Roofing Insulation
Insulation is a key consideration in most new build and refurbishment projects. Guidance on where insulation is required, and the thermal performance standards that apply, can be found in Approved Document L of the Building Regulations. This includes information on target U-values for different roof types and construction scenarios.
These regulations are subject to periodic updates, so the latest version should always be consulted for current thermal performance requirements. The Sikatherm® range includes insulation types suitable for a variety of flat roofing applications, including mechanically fixed, adhered, and ballasted systems. Sikatherm® products are compatible with Sika waterproofing systems, including reinforced bituminous membranes, hot melt structural waterproofing, single ply, and liquid-applied membranes. The range includes flat board options as well as bespoke tapered insulation schemes for applications where falls are required. For inverted roof build-ups, closed-cell insulation types such as EPS, XPS, and cellular glass are available.Sika provides project-specific thermal calculations and condensation risk analysis to support compliance with design requirements and regulatory guidance.
