Sikatherm® MW DD

MINERAL WOOL THERMAL INSULATION BOARD

Sikatherm MW DD is a dual-density thermal insulation board, faced with a mineral fibre tissue, bonded to the insulation core during the manufacturing process.

  • For use in new construction and refurbishment
  • No separation layer for membranes is required
  • Available as uniform thickness or tapered

Usage

  • Thermal insulation in Sika® roof waterproofing systems with limited foot traffic. 
  • Suitable for mechanical fixing or bonding with approve Sika® adhesives

Packaging

Sikatherm® MW DD is fully palletised and wrapped in a polythene for protection during transit the pallets should be stored under a secure waterproof covering.

Boards should be stacked no more than two pallets high for safety.

Shelf Life

Will not expire in the short term if stored correctly

Storage Conditions

The packaging of Sikatherm MW DD shall not be considered adequate for long term outside protection. Ideally, boards shall be stored inside a building. If however, outside storage cannot be avoided the boards shall be stacked clear of the ground and covered with a polythene sheet or weatherproof tarpaulin. Boards that have been allowed to get wet must not be used

Application steps

SUBSTRATE QUALITY

The substrate surface must be uniform, smooth and free of any sharp protrusions or burrs, etc. It shall be clean, dry and free of grease and dust.
