Sika – a global leader in products and solutions for the construction industry – has heavily invested this year in renewing and gaining new BBA certificates for a large number of its products.

"Over the past year our product management team has been working hard to ensure all of our BBA certificates are up to date. We are committed to excellence and this applies to everything we do, and most importantly to our products." Ivo Schaedler, General Manager of Sika Limited

So far this year more than 25 certificates have been renewed or updated including BBA certificates for Sikafloor 405, Decothane Roof Waterproofing Systems from Sika Liquid Plastics, Sarnafil single ply membranes from Sika Sarnafil, and Sika adhesives. A key achievement is for the SikaTack Panel Adhesive System which is now accepted by the NHBC when installed in accordance with the certificate – a change from its previous embargo on the use of structural adhesives.

BBA certification is the ultimate mark of assurance for the UK construction industry and provides an independent third party analysis of the claims made by a manufacturer about its products. This includes longevity and performance characteristics, and is therefore an invaluable tool for specifiers.

"2013 has been a busy year for us and we are anticipating an equally busy 2014, with a number of on-going BBA approvals and new ones yet to come." Nigel Blacklock, Head of Technical at Sika
