Sika obtains an "AA" sustainability rating from MSCI ESG Research and is rated as an industry leader in Sustainalytics ESG Rating. Sika is proud of having improved its performance in two of the most important ESG ratings. The advancement is a result of the high focus the company is placing on sustainability, in all its aspects. The strong positioning was also confirmed by the recently announced inclusion in the DJSI Europe for the third consecutive year. Sika will continue driving the positive development in its own operations as well as facilitating the sustainability journey of its customers.
MSCI ESG Ratings are designed to measure a company’s resilience to financially material environmental, societal and governance (ESG) risks. The MSCI ESG Ratings range from leader (AAA, AA), average (A, BBB, BB) to laggard (B, CCC). With an AA rating, Sika is one of the leaders among 190 companies in the specialty chemicals industry.
Morningstar Sustainalytics ESG Risk Ratings measure a company’s exposure to industry-specific material ESG risks and how well a company is managing those risks. Based on their quantitative scores, companies are grouped into one of five risk categories (negligible, low, medium, high, severe). With a score of 18.9, Sika is placed in the low risk category. Being in the 5th percentile in the specailty chemicals industry, Sika is rated as an industry leader.
The Dow Jones Sustainability Index (DJSI) is one of the most important stock indices in the world in terms of governance and sustainability. For the third consecutive year, Sika is a constituent of the DJSI Europe (industry group: materials), reaching a 93 percentile ranking (2022: 92) in comparison with more than 500 companies in the industry.
