Thousands of education sector thought leaders will gather alongside innovative suppliers to share their insights and solutions, as we discuss the biggest challenges faced by the industry today.

Sika is once again showcasing its roofing solutions for educational buildings across the UK. We continue to support and work alongside schools and academies, as we partner with education building surveyors to help secure grants from the Condition Improvement Fund (CIF) and allocate School Condition Allocation (SCA) funding for these essential buildings. Sika has helped schools and education facilities successfully appeal for over £40 million in funding through the provision of detailed reports on the condition of the schools’ buildings.

A roof refurbishment can provide a school with so many benefits, particularly long-term. An energy-efficient roof with improved thermal performance and insulation can help reduce energy costs and environmental impact, keeping the building at a comfortable temperature without soaring bills. Other benefits of a reliable roof include improved acoustics and a lack of disruption due to leaks and the need for repair work.

The Education Skills Funding Agency’s CIF funding is available to applicants on an annual basis, giving eligible education establishments, including Local Authority Schools, Single Academy Trusts (SATs), Multiple Academy Trusts (MATs), sixth form colleges and universities, plenty of opportunity to get the support they need from building surveyors and suppliers, such as Sika. Funding can be used to address significant school condition needs, such as roof refurbishment, windows, boilers, fire upgrades, etc.

SCA funding, available for larger MATs, should be deployed strategically across the estate in question to address maintenance and expansion needs. We can help to identify and prioritise the allocation of funds by working with building surveyors to fully understand the current and future demands on the existing estate, providing an up-to-date assessment of the condition of buildings and creating a property maintenance and expansion strategy alongside a list of priority projects and costs.

To provide further reassurance, Sika is now a part of the Institute of School Business Leadership (ISBL) Approved Partner programme, which is designed to help schools with important procurement decisions. To achieve Approved Partner status, Sika was subject to a rigorous vetting process, which includes taking multiple references from schools we have previously supplied.
