Usage

SikaBond®-150 Premium Floor is designed for full surface bonding of the floor coverings mentioned below on absorbent and non-absorbent substrates in interior areas:   Linoleum coverings Woven fabrics Natural fibre coverings with backing Single or multilayer needle felting Carpets with PVC, PU or filler-free backing Impact sound insulation underlays PVC and cushioned vinyl (CV) floor coveringsCorkment and cork linoleumRubber floor coverings as tiles (~3.5 mm, e.g. Norament)Rubber floor coverings in sheets (e.g. Noraplan)

Shelf Life

SikaBond®-150 Premium Floor has a shelf life of 12 months from the date of production, if it is stored properly in undamaged, original, sealed packaging, and if the storage conditions are met.

Storage Conditions

SikaBond®-150 Premium Floor shall be stored in dry conditions, protected from direct sunlight and at temperatures between +5 °C and +25 °C.

Substrate Temperature

During laying and until SikaBond®-150 Premium Floor has fully cured, the substrate and ambient temperatures shall be between +15 °C and +35 °C without and between +20 °C and +35 °C with underfloor heating.

Substrate Moisture Content

Permissible substrate moisture content without underfloor heating:

  • 2.0 % CM for cement screeds.
  • 0.5 % CM for anhydrite screeds.
  • 3–12 % CM for magnesia flooring (depending on the organic content).

 
Permissible substrate moisture content for use with underfloor heating:

  • 1.8 % CM for cement screeds.
  • 0.3 % CM for anhydrite screeds.
  • 3–12 % CM for magnesia flooring (depending on the organic content).

 
Note: For all moisture contents the quality of the substrates and surfaces always follow the guidelines of the soft floor manufacturer.

Application steps

APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS

For the application of SikaBond®-150 Premium Floor all standard construction guidelines and relevant valid data sheets apply.

SUBSTRATE PREPARATION

  • The substrate must be clean, dry, sound and homogeneous, free from oils, grease, dust and loose or friable particles. Paint, cement laitance and other poorly adhering contaminants must be removed.
  • SikaBond®-150 Premium Floor adheres without primers and/or activators.
  • The subfloor must meet the requirements of national standards, must have good compression and tensile strength and must be even.
  • Defective subfloors shall be treated by taking appropriate measures, e.g. grinding, milling, vacuuming or priming.
  • To produce an absorbent, even subfloor, a cement-based levelling compound shall be used, e.g. Sikafloor®-100 Level, -2010 Flow, -201 Fiber Level, -228 Level, -4020 Fiber Level or -4050 Level. For appropriate layer thicknesses of the levelling
    compound, refer to the relevant valid
  • Mastic asphalt and other non-absorbent subfloors as well as rubber floor coverings may require specific self-levelling compound layer thicknesses. For appropriate layer thicknesses, refer to the relevant valid data sheets.
  • Concrete and/or cement screeds must be ground and thoroughly cleaned with an industrial vacuum.
  • When installing floor covering with underfloor heating, existing measuring points have to be checked regarding the moisture content of the subfloor.
 

CLEANING OF TOOLS

Clean all tools and application equipment immediately after use with water or Sika® Wonder Wipes. Once cured, residual material can only be removed mechanically
